  • Bentworth CC v Tichborne Part II – 9th July 2016

To add to many of life’s imponderables such as why is the world round, what really happened to       Lord Lucan, why did Mr Cameron call that referendum and why does smelly cheese taste best we   have a new entrant. Why, with 10 players and a bowling attack missing most of our frontline            bowlers, do you insert… Read more

  • Bentworth CC v Ashford Hill CC – 4th June 2016

So Bentworth ‘s finest 9, many still smarting from the mauling at the hands of Holybourne the previous weekend, travelled to the wild lands north of    Basingstoke to take on Ashford Hill 1st XI.  Mr Phillips had suffered a malady shortly before start and had to withdraw leaving us short in both batting  and bowling… Read more

  • Match Report – Bentworth 1st X v Basingstoke & NH IV – 7th May 2016

You’ll have noticed the seeming mistake in the title but for regular followers of BCC having 10 players is a triumph in itself sometimes. Especially when we had 9 until new boy Trevor Edwards kindly pulled himself away from mowing his lawns to don his whites for his new village. And a fine debut it… Read more

  • Bentworth v Colden Common – 22nd August 2015

As the season draws to its denouement BCC’s very survival in CD4 continued to hang by a particularly thin thread. Marginally above the drop zone we were at least facing a team below us. Surely a 20 pointer I hear you say? Well following the disappointment of having our match with just about our strongest… Read more

  • Bentworth CC vs Dinton – 1st August 2015

A new month brought another home game and with it a new start  time of 1:30. We were yet again able to field a full 11 all of which could be included into the bracket of ‘cricketers’. All players were ready for the new start except for our ‘good doctor’ who failed to receive the… Read more

  • Bentworth vs Wherwell – 11th July 2015

The trip down the A303 to points no one knew were in North Hampshire has become a familiar one over recent weeks. Equally familiar has been the midweek text from the skipper saying ‘we only have 8’ and a frantic scramble to fill the remaining slots. On this occasion we were taken to the village… Read more

  • BCC v Amesbury 18th July 2015

A fine bright Saturday greeted a full compliment of Bentworth cricketers set on reversing recent defeats. 11 men, home game, sun shining, birds singing – what could be better? BCC welcomed Will II debuting and David W re-debuting amongst the usual familiar faces. As usual Max won/ lost the toss and the oppo had first… Read more
